| The effects of supplementing feedlot diets with ionophores and breed type were assessed on growth rate and carcass characteristics in hair lambs. Twenty four intact males, 12 Pelibuey × Dorper (PDo) and 12 Pelibuey × Damara (PDa) lambs, 17.9 ± 3.7 kg initial weight, were housed in individual pens for a 60-d feeding trial. The lambs were assigned randomly into four diets: control without additives (C); 25 µg/g monensin (M); 28 µg/g salinomycin (S); 28 µg/g S for 20 d, and 25 µg/g M for the next 40 d (SM). | Twenty-seven male Saanen kids were used in a completely randomized design to investigate the effect of feed restriction on retail and biological carcass yields, proportion of carcass retail cuts, carcass compactness, leg tissue composition, and ribeye area (REA). Animals were assigned to one of the following treatments: 0 (free access to feed: ad libitum), 30 or 60% of feed restriction. | The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of genetic group (GG) of the calf during gestation, mobilization of body reserves and period of postpartum anestrus in Nellore cows. Thirty-seven primiparous and multiparous cows were used: 24 gave birth to Nellore (NEL), and 13 gave birth to ½ Simmental × ½ Nellore (SIM) calves. According to the date of calving, cows were divided into three blocks, with intervals of 20 days between blocks. | 黒毛和種間接検定材料牛404頭の枝肉横断面画像（以下，枝肉画像）を用い，横断面上の皮下脂肪や筋間脂肪の実面積および面積割合について，より的確で簡易な測定方法を検討することを目的とした。枝肉画像から，僧帽筋および広背筋外側の皮下脂肪，内側の筋間脂肪，皮下脂肪の和（皮下脂肪〔全体〕），筋間脂肪の和（筋間脂肪〔全体〕)および皮下脂肪と筋間脂肪の和（合計脂肪）の実面積を測定した。また，筋間脂肪と合計脂肪は，筋間脂肪に菱形筋を含まない筋間脂肪1ならびに合計脂肪1および菱形筋を含む筋間脂肪2ならびに合計脂肪2を用いた。枝肉画像から，安定的かつ簡易に長さを計測できる部位として，胸椎端部外側から胸椎棘突起までの基準長，胸最長筋と僧帽筋を結んだ接線，胸椎棘突起から基準長に対して垂直な直線，腸肋筋左側端を通る直線，基準長に対して30度の直線の全長，各直線の皮下脂肪および筋間脂肪部を測定対象とした。404頭の記録を，重回帰分析で推定式を決定するためのデータセット1(n=202) と，推定精度を検証するためのデータセット2(n=202)に分類した。 3変数に制限した重回帰式の決定係数は，皮下脂肪〔全体〕で0.89，筋間脂肪2〔全体〕で0.85，合計脂肪2で0.87 と高い値を示した。また，データセット2により推定精度を検証したところ， 0.81-0.87と高い決定係数を示したことから， 3ヵ所の脂肪厚の測定により，枝肉横断面上の脂肪面積を高い精度で推定する可能性が示された。 |

| 枝肉横断面の主要な筋肉の面積ならびに筋肉内の脂肪交雑割合，皮下脂肪および筋間脂肪の面積を画像解析により測定し，従来の枝肉格付形質と画像解析形質との遺伝的関連性について調査した．黒毛和種間接検定材料牛404頭の枝肉横断面画像，格付記録および血統記録を用いた．一定範囲の枝肉横断面画像から，胸最長筋，僧帽筋および広背筋の面積ならびに各筋肉内の脂肪面積比，胸最長筋－背半棘筋－頭半棘筋に囲まれた筋間脂肪，胸最長筋－頭半棘筋－背多裂筋－腸肋筋に囲まれた筋間脂肪，僧帽筋および広背筋外側の皮下脂肪，それら筋肉内側の筋間脂肪の面積を測定した．また，枝肉横断面の実面積に対する各形質の実面積の占める割合（以下，面積%）を測定した．各皮下脂肪および各筋間脂肪の面積%に関する遺伝率は，それぞれ0.58～0.72および0.37～0.71と中程度から高い範囲にあった．皮下脂肪と筋間脂肪の面積%間の遺伝相関（0.15）は低い値であった．BMSナンバーと強い関連性を持つ胸最長筋内脂肪面積比と皮下脂肪の面積%間の遺伝相関は，－0.28～－0.08と負の値を示し，筋間脂肪においては逆に0.17～0.22と正の値を示した． The purposes of this study were to investigate the relationship among major muscle areas， subcutaneous fat (SF) and intermuscular fat (INF) of carcass cross section by image analysis，and to predict genetic parameters of those traits.
